Digital Design Engineer - Apprenticeship
Role Summary
This is a 12-month, in-office apprenticeship on the digital verification team in Noida. The apprentice will work on functional verification of digital blocks (primarily SerDes PHY serial links), developing and running testbenches, and collaborating with design engineers to assure RTL correctness and protocol compliance.
Start date: November 2026. Full-time apprenticeship focused on hands-on verification experience and skill development.
Experience Level
Entry-level internship for fresh graduates (class of 2025 or 2026). No prior full-time experience required; limited internship experience is acceptable.
Responsibilities
Typical tasks during the apprenticeship include:
- Develop and maintain UVM-based testbenches for functional verification of digital SerDes PHY blocks.
- Create and execute test cases, sequences, checkers, and assertions to verify RTL functionality and protocol compliance for serial links.
- Analyze simulation results, debug test failures, and work with design engineers to identify and resolve functional issues.
- Develop functional coverage models and track verification metrics to support coverage-driven verification.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and eligibility criteria:
- Strong fundamentals in digital electronics.
- Proficiency in Verilog and SystemVerilog; experience writing RTL and testbenches.
- Exposure to functional verification methodologies (UVM, OVM, or VMM) is a plus.
- Theoretical knowledge of protocols such as PCIe is a plus.
- Not currently employed in a full-time position; limited internship experience is acceptable.
Education Requirements
Completed Bachelor's degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field is mandatory. Targeted at fresh graduates from the class of 2025 or 2026. Candidates must not be enrolled in or have completed M.Tech or other postgraduate diploma programs.
