DFT Jobs, Level - Mid-Career

Job Title

DFT Lead

Role Summary

Lead DFT architecture and execution for low-cost MCU SoC designs within the silicon design team, ensuring testability, silicon quality, and delivery from concept to tape-out.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define DFT strategy, mentor junior engineers, and drive implementation for silicon bring-up and test automation.

Experience Level

Mid-level β€” requires 5+ years of hands-on DFT engineering experience.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include defining DFT architecture, driving methodology, and leading implementation through silicon bring-up.

  • Define and lead DFT architecture for complex SoC designs from concept to tape-out.
  • Drive DFT strategy including scan compression, MBIST, JTAG, hierarchical test, and fault-coverage targets.
  • Own scan insertion, ATPG, MBIST implementation, fault simulation, and DFT sign-off activities.
  • Resolve complex ATPG, scan-chain, and GLS violations; influence design for testability and reduced test cost.
  • Lead silicon bring-up, ATE correlation, and debug activities.
  • Develop and maintain DFT automation flows using Tcl, Perl, and Python.
  • Represent DFT in cross-functional reviews and mentor junior engineers.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience for this role.

  • 5+ years of hands-on DFT engineering experience in the semiconductor industry.
  • Expert-level knowledge in scan insertion, ATPG, MBIST, fault simulation, and DFT sign-off.
  • Advanced proficiency with Cadence Modus (DFT), Genus (synthesis), and Xcelium (simulation).
  • Strong expertise in Verilog or VHDL.
  • Advanced scripting skills in Tcl, Perl, and/or Python for flow automation.

Nice-to-have:

  • Familiarity with low-power DFT methodologies (multi-voltage and clock-gated designs).

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree specified. Field of study not stated; no mention of equivalent experience or required certifications.
