Job Title

DFT Engineer, Graviton Team

Role Summary

The DFT Engineer will design and implement design-for-test (DFT) architectures and test solutions for Graviton system-on-chip platforms developed by Annapurna Labs within AWS. The role focuses on DFT insertion, test pattern development, timing analysis, verification of DFT logic, and supporting silicon bring-up and diagnostics.

This position works closely with chip design, validation, and lab teams to ensure robust manufacturing testability and diagnostic coverage for large-scale cloud compute products.

Experience Level

Mid-level. Typical candidate has 3+ years of experience as a DFT engineer in a semiconductor company.

Responsibilities

Core responsibilities include design, verification, and support of DFT features across the chip development lifecycle.

  • Design and implement advanced DFT architectures for complex SoC platforms.
  • Develop test and debug patterns to ensure manufacturing and in-field testability.
  • Perform static timing analysis across multiple DFT modes and constraints.
  • Verify DFT logic, scan chains, and related components at RTL and gate level.
  • Support silicon bring-up, failure diagnosis, and device-level debug in lab environments.
  • Collaborate with chip design, validation, timing, and CAD teams to integrate DFT flows.
  • Optimize DFT strategies for test coverage, area, and performance trade-offs.

Requirements

Must-have skills and practical experience required for the role. Preferred items are noted.

  • Must-have: 3+ years of hands-on experience as a DFT engineer in a semiconductor company.
  • Must-have: Practical experience with scan insertion tools, ATPG, and gate-level simulation.
  • Must-have: Proficiency in Verilog and SystemVerilog for DFT and test-related RTL work.
  • Must-have: Scripting skills for automation (Perl/Tcl or equivalent).
  • Preferred: Experience with chip design flows and RTL/implementation interactions.
  • Preferred: Experience with verification platforms (UVM), FPGA prototyping, or emulator-based validation.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or a related technical field β€” or equivalent practical experience is acceptable.
