DFT Engineer

Role Summary

Responsible for design-for-test implementation and verification for complex multi-million-gate computer vision SoCs. Collaborates with product engineering and production teams to develop scan, MBIST, and diagnostics for silicon bring-up and test optimization.

Ambarella develops edge AI semiconductors and software for camera and vision applications.

Experience Level

Mid-level — 1–5 years of DFT implementation experience as specified in the posting.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include:

• Implement DFT features (scan, compression, MBIST, LBIST, streaming scan network) from RTL through post-production for large computer vision SoCs.
• Analyze clocking schemes and implement clock control structures for at-speed scan testing.
• Develop and generate high-quality scan and MBIST patterns.
• Perform DFT verification, including post place-and-route timing simulations.
• Work with product engineering to bring up scan & MBIST patterns on ATE.
• Support silicon production activities, including failure diagnosis and test optimization.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience:

• Working knowledge of DFT fundamentals and DFT implementation experience.
• Knowledge of digital logic design and timing analysis.
• Proficiency in Verilog and Python.
• Experience supporting silicon bring-up and production test optimization.
• Nice-to-have: experience with Mentor Tessent tools.
• Nice-to-have: scan diagnostics experience.

Education Requirements

MS in Electrical or Computer Engineering; or BS in Electrical or Computer Engineering with 1–5 years of DFT implementation experience (as stated in the posting).
