Job Title

DFT Engineer

Role Summary

Work on design-for-test (DFT) verification and test planning for complex SoC components, focusing on Memory BIST and other DFT circuits (JTAG, IO BIST, ATPG). The role covers pre-silicon simulation, test coverage sign-off, automation and flow improvement, and collaboration with design and QA teams to ensure robust testability.

Experience Level

Entry-level (0–3 years). Candidates with 1+ years of relevant verification experience are preferred.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include verification, test development, automation, and cross-team collaboration.

  • Verify Memory BIST logic and other DFT circuits (JTAG, IO BIST, ATPG).
  • Develop and validate unit-level and SoC/full-chip test plans using UVM and internal tools.
  • Perform pre-silicon simulation and debug of test functionality; analyze and sign off on test coverage using standard coverage metrics.
  • Build and improve automation, verification flows, and tooling for test execution and coverage measurement.
  • Identify, track, and help resolve verification and test-related bugs.
  • Contribute to memory-test productization and integration into chip validation flows.
  • Partner with design and QA teams to understand architecture and improve overall test coverage.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and attributes, plus a few desirable extras.

  • Solid analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Good understanding of logic design, architecture and verification concepts.
  • Strong coding skills in industry-standard scripting languages (for example Python, Perl).
  • Exposure to DFT circuits and methodology.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication; curiosity and eagerness to learn.

Nice-to-have:

  • Experience with constrained-random verification, UVM, coverage metrics, profiling tools, and related flows.
  • Familiarity with memory-test automation and productization.

Education Requirements

B.Tech/BE/BS or M.Tech/ME/MS in Electrical Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering, Computer Engineering/Science, or a related technical field β€” or equivalent practical experience.
