DFT Architect, Product Engineering and Test Solutions — ATPG

Role Summary

Architect and drive design-for-test (DFT) and ATPG strategies for product engineering and test-solutions. Collaborate with design, verification, and tool teams to define, validate and deploy test methodologies that improve silicon testability and manufacturing yield.

Experience Level

Senior-level (Architect). Typically requires 7+ years of relevant ASIC/DFT/ATPG experience.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include:

• Define and own DFT/ATPG architecture and strategy for assigned products or platforms.
• Specify and validate test insertion flows and ATPG methodologies across the design flow.
• Work with EDA/tool teams to integrate and tune ATPG and DFT toolchains.
• Perform design reviews and provide guidance on testability, scan insertion, and test coverage.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (RTL, synthesis, DFT automation, manufacturing test) to resolve testability issues.
• Mentor engineers, drive best practices, and document DFT processes and metrics.

Requirements

Required and preferred qualifications (concise):

• Must-have: Proven experience in DFT and ATPG for digital ASICs; strong understanding of scan, compression, and test coverage concepts.
• Must-have: Practical experience with industry ATPG/DFT toolflows and silicon bring-up/test interactions.
• Must-have: Experience collaborating with RTL/design, synthesis, and test engineering teams to deliver manufacturable designs.
• Nice-to-have: Scripting skills (Tcl, Python) for automation and tool integration.
• Nice-to-have: Prior experience defining DFT architecture for complex SoCs or multi-die designs.
• Nice-to-have: Experience working with EDA/tool development teams or contributing to ATPG tool enhancements.
