Role Summary

The Designer, Layout in the Advanced Converters Group designs and implements integrated circuit layouts of moderate complexity, performs timing extraction and verification, and collaborates with cross-functional teams to deliver semiconductor products. Works with moderate guidance and takes on increasingly challenging projects that contribute to product development.

Experience Level

Mid-level (approximately 2+ years of relevant experience)

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Design and implement integrated circuit layouts with moderate complexity.
  • Resolve moderately complex layout problems through analysis and design iteration.
  • Perform timing extraction and analysis to support verification and sign-off.
  • Use EDA tools for layout creation, DRC/LVS checks, and verification with growing proficiency.
  • Work on short-term focused projects with clear deliverables and moderate guidance.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams and provide coaching to junior engineers when needed.

Requirements

Must-have skills and knowledge:

  • Demonstrated competence in IC layout design principles and implementation (layout fundamentals).
  • Proficiency with IC layout tools, CMOS technology, timing analysis methodologies, and relevant EDA tools.
  • Working knowledge of semiconductor manufacturing processes.
  • Professional communication skills for cross-functional coordination.
  • Awareness of business impact of technical work.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience. Preferred: ~2+ years of relevant industry experience.
