Job Title

Design Verification Student Worker

Role Summary

This role supports an SoC design team to implement and verify features for next-generation SoCs, adopting modern design methodologies and AI-assisted flows. The position involves digital simulation, IP-to-SoC integration, scripting/automation, and cross-functional collaboration with design engineers and micro-architects.

Hybrid role based in Guadalajara; practical, hands-on student/intern assignment focused on hardware verification and automation.

Experience Level

Entry-level / Student internship. Candidates should have at least a few months of relevant experience (see Requirements). Position targets students with remaining time before graduation.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include verification, integration, automation, and debugging work within an SoC design environment.

  • Integrate IP blocks into SoC-level designs.
  • Develop automation and scripting to support design and verification flows.
  • Perform and debug digital simulations; identify and drive closure of bugs.
  • Collaborate closely with design engineers, micro-architects, and cross-site teams.
  • Deliver high-quality results on schedule and document work for design reviews.
  • Learn and apply modern hardware description languages and verification methodologies.

Requirements

  • Minimum ~4 months practical experience in digital design, ASIC design flow, or computer architecture.
  • Experience with at least one programming or scripting language: C/C++, Perl, Ruby, Python, or Unix/Linux scripting.
  • Experience with hardware description languages such as VHDL, Verilog, or SystemVerilog.
  • Basic pre-silicon validation skills and familiarity with logic simulators (examples: Xilinx/Quartus flows, ModelSim, VCS).
  • Debugging skills for digital designs and simulation environments.
  • Advanced English proficiency.
  • Must upload an English resume to be considered.
  • Must have unrestricted, permanent legal right to work in Mexico (no visa sponsorship available).

Nice-to-have:

  • Basic testbench development and writing test scenarios.
  • Familiarity with functional coverage concepts and implementation.

Education Requirements

Pursuing a Master's or PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Systems Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related technical field, with at least one year remaining before graduation.
