Job Title
Design Verification Engineer
Role Summary
Lead/Principal-level ASIC design verification engineer responsible for driving verification strategy for next-generation SoC silicon. The role covers block- and system-level verification, verification methodology architecture, and building scalable object-oriented verification environments.
Works closely with cross-functional design and verification teams to define coverage goals, resolve architectural trade-offs, and deliver high-quality silicon on advanced process nodes.
Experience Level
Senior β Lead/Principal level. 12+ years of relevant ASIC design verification experience preferred.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include ownership of verification strategy and execution across blocks and system integration:
- Lead end-to-end verification planning and execution at block and system levels.
- Define, deploy, and improve verification methodologies and ASIC verification flows.
- Develop robust, scalable, object-oriented verification environments and testbenches.
- Independently debug complex design and verification problems; perform root-cause analysis.
- Coordinate with design teams on coverage, timelines, and architectural trade-offs.
Requirements
Key skills and experience required or strongly preferred. Education requirements are listed separately below.
-
Must-have: Extensive ASIC design verification experience (senior/lead level); deep experience with RTL verification methodologies and SystemVerilog.
-
Must-have: Strong practical experience with UVM, object-oriented verification, and building test environments.
-
Must-have: Proficiency in C/C++ and scripting languages such as Perl, Python, or Tcl.
-
Must-have: Proven ability to debug complex hardware/verification issues and communicate findings clearly to engineering teams.
-
Must-have: Legal authorization to work in the United States.
-
Nice-to-have: Experience with advanced process nodes (e.g., 5nm and below), SystemC, hardware emulation (Palladium, Zebu) or FPGA-based prototyping.
-
Nice-to-have: Familiarity with EDA tools and full front-to-back silicon development lifecycle.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
