Job Title

Design Verification Engineer

Role Summary

Join Marvell's Design Verification team to verify functional correctness of ASIC/SoC designs used in high-speed data-transfer applications (enterprise, cloud/AI, carrier, automotive). You will design and implement verification environments, reference models, bus-functional monitors/drivers, and test infrastructures to ensure designs meet customer specifications.

Experience Level

Senior level. Posting requests a BS with 10+ years verification and firmware/software development experience, or MS/PhD with 5+ years.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include architecting verification environments, implementing tests, and collaborating with designers to close coverage and functional issues.

  • Design and implement the architecture for functional verification environments, including reference models and bus-functional monitors/drivers.
  • Write verification test plans using constrained-random techniques and coverage analysis; develop and tune tests to meet coverage goals.
  • Debug functional failures and work with design teams to identify and resolve root causes.
  • Verify boot code and develop/maintain tools to support multi-core SoC verification and highly parallel compute environments.
  • Translate engineering requirements into scalable, easy-to-use software tools; perform unit and regression testing of those tools.
  • Contribute to verification methodology and best practices for the team.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills, plus desirable additional skills and professional traits.

  • Must have experience with SystemVerilog and UVM.
  • Proven ability to write detailed test plans and build directed and constrained-random verification environments.
  • Experience with scripting (Python or Perl) and EDA verification tools.
  • Strong object-oriented design and implementation skills.
  • Familiarity with Linux operating systems.
  • Proficient programming skills; experience with C++ and ARM assembly is desirable.
  • Experience debugging complex hardware/software interactions and collaborating across teams.
  • Attention to detail, self-motivated, able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Nice-to-have: understanding of networking protocols.

Education Requirements

BS in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Science with 10+ years of verification and firmware/software development experience; or MS/PhD with 5+ years of relevant experience.
