Job Title

Design Verification Engineer

Role Summary

The Design Verification Engineer will verify and validate IP designs to ensure correctness, performance, power efficiency, and reliability. The role works within Central Engineering Group teams, collaborating with architects, RTL developers, and physical design engineers to deliver verified IP for larger system integration.

Work focuses on functional verification, simulation, debugging, and improving verification infrastructure and methodologies for complex digital IP.

Experience Level

Mid-level. Typical experience guidance in the posting: Bachelor's degree with 6+ years, Master's with 4+ years, or PhD with 2+ years of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include planning and executing IP verification and improving verification infrastructure.

  • Develop and execute comprehensive IP verification plans to meet microarchitecture specifications.
  • Design, implement, and maintain testbenches and verification environments to achieve coverage goals.
  • Define and run system simulations to verify functionality and analyze power and timing behavior.
  • Debug, root-cause, and resolve pre-silicon design issues; implement corrective measures for test failures.
  • Collaborate with architects, RTL teams, and physical design to refine verification strategies.
  • Document verification plans and present technical reviews to design and architecture teams.
  • Maintain and improve verification infrastructure, methodologies, and test framework components.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience required for the role (education details are in Education Requirements below).

  • Proficiency in SystemVerilog and strong understanding of OVM/UVM methodologies.
  • Experience in functional verification of IP designs, including debugging and root-cause analysis.
  • Hands-on expertise with digital design fundamentals, hardware simulation, and verification tools.
  • Experience developing test content, validation tools, and verification methodologies.
  • Solid knowledge of microarchitecture and power/performance validation techniques.
  • Ability to collaborate across cross-functional teams and lead technical reviews.

Nice-to-have:

  • Knowledge of DDR/LPDDR, DFI protocols, and DDR PHY validation.
  • Familiarity with formal verification methods and system-level microarchitecture validation.
  • Experience with performance-driven validation and optimization techniques.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline with 6+ years of relevant experience; OR Master's degree with 4+ years of relevant experience; OR PhD with 2+ years of relevant experience.
