Role Summary
As a Design Support Engineer, you will be responsible for managing interactions between design groups and foundries. Your role will involve reviewing performance requirements alongside designers, sharing process development updates with internal teams, and ensuring foundry device designs align with upcoming product needs.
Experience Level
This position requires significant experience. Candidates should possess a Bachelor’s degree and at least 5 years of relevant experience, a Master’s degree with 3 years, or a PhD with no prior experience required.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include:
- Facilitating collaboration between design teams and foundries to address design and manufacturing challenges.
- Disseminating critical design performance metrics and application-specific operating conditions to all stakeholders.
- Driving device designs in foundries to fulfill future product specifications.
- Extracting and analyzing device performance data for design optimizations.
- Coordinating with Manufacturing, Central Engineering, and Design teams to validate design intellectual property.
- Conducting product tape-outs, checking for design rule violations, and managing mask data and process flows.
- Identifying and resolving issues pertaining to prototype lots, distinguishing between design and process-related issues.
- Facilitating pre-design and pre-tape out meetings to ensure comprehensive product quality control.
- Utilizing software to automate tape-out processes is advantageous.
Requirements
The position necessitates proficiency in managing complex design processes and collaborating with multiple teams. A strong technical background, along with experience in the semiconductor field, is essential.
