Role Summary

The Design Implementation Engineer focuses on design implementation activities related to place and route and timing closure for semiconductor design. The role involves floor-planning, partitioning, placement, clock tree synthesis, and physical verification.

Senior level; requires 10-12+ years of experience in the field.

Responsibilities

The main responsibilities include:

  • Conducting design implementation activities related to place and route, and/or timing closure.
  • Driving tools and methodologies to attain desired power, performance, and area (PPA) metrics.
  • Performing equivalence checks, STA, timing closure, and power optimization.
  • Implementing timing and functional ECOs.
  • Applying Broadcom's established design methodologies to ensure successful silicon outcomes.

Requirements

Essential qualifications include:

  • Expertise in place and route and/or timing with constraints and STA.
  • Proficiency in design implementation at both block and SoC levels.
  • Experience with tools such as Primetime, ICC2, Innovus, Caliber, and LEC.
  • Full chip tapeout experience on 7nm and lower technologies is preferred.
  • Hands-on experience with timing analysis and place and route tools for ASIC/SoC design is essential.

Education Requirements

A BS in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering or related field with 12+ years of related experience, or an MS in the same fields with 10+ years of related experience is required.
