Role Summary
The Density Fill PDK Development Engineer will contribute to the development of cutting-edge technologies in Intel's Design Technology Platform (DTP) organization. This role focuses on designing, developing, and debugging software tools that support Intel's hardware product design and manufacturing processes, driving innovation and efficiency.
Experience Level
Senior, with a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience or 3 years with a Master’s degree.
Responsibilities
The candidate will:
- Design, develop, and debug Fill components of Process Design Kits (PDKs).
- Provide algorithmic solutions to address density deficiencies and ensure manufacturability compliance.
- Collaborate with various stakeholders to define requirements and implement solutions.
- Automate workflows to improve efficiency and accuracy across design teams.
- Develop comprehensive test cases for software tools to ensure integration with design methodologies.
- Innovate in EDA tools and methodologies to meet technology needs.
- Partner with cross-functional teams and EDA vendors to enhance tool features.
- Maintain documentation to support users.
Requirements
Minimum qualifications include:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field with 6+ years of relevant experience OR Master's degree with 3+ years of experience.
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Tcl, or Perl.
- Expertise in EDA tools including Calibre, ICV, or Pegasus.
- Strong understanding of semiconductor physics, process technology, and design rules.
- Experience in developing algorithmic solutions for physical design challenges.
- Knowledge of Unix/Linux platforms and environments.
Preferred qualifications include:
- Experience with advanced physical verification techniques.
- Familiarity with custom layout tools like Cadence Virtuoso.
- Understanding of technology scaling challenges related to physical design rules.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field is required. A Master’s degree may substitute for some experience.
