Job Title
Customer and System Enablement Engineer
Role Summary
This engineer leads early system bring-up, debugging, and enablement for DRAM and memory subsystems across x86 and ARM platforms. The role works with internal validation teams, product engineering, and external customers/partners to establish system readiness and qualification.
Primary mission: root-cause system- and memory-related failures, develop automation and tools to improve enablement efficiency, and deliver technical findings and recommendations to customers and stakeholders.
Experience Level
Mid-level β typically 3β5+ years of relevant systems, validation, enablement, or development experience.
Responsibilities
Typical responsibilities include:
- Drive early system bring-up activities: power-on, BIOS/UEFI enablement, and memory initialization on new platforms.
- Triage, debug, and perform root-cause analysis of system, memory, and BIOS-related failures observed during development, validation, and customer engagements.
- Develop, refine, and maintain system-level tools, scripts, automation, and dashboards to improve enablement efficiency, repeatability, and data collection.
- Design structured experiments, margin testing, and rollout plans to support system characterization and large-scale data collection.
- Analyze test data and system behavior to characterize performance, reliability, and margin across platforms and workloads; present findings to customers and internal stakeholders.
- Support customer lab engagements (onsite or remote) during bring-up, debug, and qualification activities and act as a technical liaison across teams.
- Contribute to engineering documentation, training materials, and best-practice guides for internal teams and customers.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience:
- Hands-on experience with computer hardware and systems, including x86 and/or ARM platforms, DRAM, and memory modules; proven experience with system bring-up, BIOS/UEFI interaction, and low-level system debugging.
- Familiarity with laboratory and debug equipment such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, system boards, and processors.
- Experience developing and using engineering-level software and scripts (examples: Python, Linux environments, UEFI shell, SQL, C, C++).
- Practical use of AI-assisted development tools (e.g., Microsoft Copilot, Claude Code) to accelerate tool development, debugging, analysis, or documentation.
- Strong communication, collaboration, problem-solving, and documentation skills; ability to present technical data to customers and partners.
- Willingness and ability to travel to customer or partner sites as needed.
Nice-to-have:
- Validation and enablement experience specific to system-level debugging and testing.
- Advanced knowledge of computer system architecture, memory subsystems, and DRAM operation.
- Experience developing internal tools or frameworks that improve team efficiency, visibility, or scalability.
- Direct experience working in customer lab environments supporting bring-up, debug, and qualification.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field. The posting specifies 3β5+ years of demonstrated experience in a relevant systems, validation, enablement, or development role.
