Job Title
Customer and System Enablement Engineer
Role Summary
Work on system bring-up, debug, and enablement for DRAM and memory subsystems across x86 and ARM platforms. The role supports internal validation labs and external customers/partners to achieve initial qualification and customer readiness.
The position focuses on system-level troubleshooting, developing tools and automation, designing experiments for characterization and margin analysis, and presenting technical findings to stakeholders.
Experience Level
Mid-level. The posting targets candidates with approximately 3β5+ years of relevant experience in systems, validation, enablement, or development roles.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include system bring-up, failure analysis, tool development, and customer support during enablement activities.
- Drive early system bring-up activities: power-on, BIOS/UEFI enablement, and memory initialization on new platforms.
- Perform triage, debug, and root-cause analysis for system, memory, and BIOS-related failures in development, validation, and customer environments.
- Develop, refine, and maintain system-level tools, scripts, automation, and dashboards to improve enablement efficiency and data collection.
- Design structured experiments and rollout plans for system characterization, margin testing, and large-scale data collection.
- Analyze test data to characterize performance, reliability, and margin across platforms, configurations, and workloads.
- Present technical data, findings, and recommendations to customers, partners, and internal stakeholders.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product engineering, validation, application engineering, and customer-facing organizations.
- Support onsite or remote customer lab engagements and technical reviews as needed.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience; preferred items listed separately.
- Extensive hands-on experience with computer hardware and systems, including x86 and/or ARM platforms, Intel/AMD ecosystems, DRAM, and memory modules; experience with system bring-up, BIOS/UEFI interaction, and low-level system debugging.
- Strong practical knowledge of lab and debug equipment such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, system boards, and processors.
- Experience developing and using engineering-level software and scripts: Python, Linux, UEFI shell, SQL, C and/or C++.
- Practical experience using AI-assisted development tools (e.g., Microsoft Copilot, Claude Code) to accelerate coding, debugging, analysis, or documentation.
- Experience performing system-level failure analysis and root-cause analysis across joint labs and validation environments.
- Ability to develop and maintain tools, automation, and dashboards to improve repeatability and visibility of enablement activities.
Nice-to-have:
- Validation and enablement experience focused on system-level debugging and testing.
- Advanced knowledge of computer system architecture, memory subsystems, and DRAM operation.
- Experience working directly with customers in lab environments during bring-up, debug, and qualification.
- Experience developing internal tools or frameworks that improve team efficiency and scalability.
- Strong documentation skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, with 3β5+ years of demonstrated experience in a relevant systems, validation, enablement, or development role.
