Job Title

CPU Structural Design — Technology and Path Finding

Role Summary

Join Intel's development center in Haifa or Petah-Tikva as a member of the P-Core structural and physical design team. The role focuses on physical design, process and construction technology, and analysis to optimize power, area and frequency for high-performance Intel CPUs.

Experience Level

Entry-level — At least 1 year of back-end (BE) design experience using industry EDA tools.

Responsibilities

The engineer will perform structural and physical design tasks across the physical design flow and contribute to methodology improvements.

  • Perform full physical design flow: synthesis, floorplanning, placement, routing, clock tree synthesis, and signoff-quality static timing analysis.
  • Analyze frequency, power, area trade-offs and perform power/clock distribution and power grid planning.
  • Work on process-technology analysis from device level to APR (automatic place and route) level and recommend process needs.
  • Drive timing closure, coverage analysis, and physical clock design.
  • Contribute to development and improvement of physical design methodologies and automation.

Requirements

Concise list of required and preferred technical skills and experience.

  • Must-have: Minimum ~1 year BE design experience using industry EDA tools and experience with TCL.
  • Must-have: Practical experience in physical design tasks (timing closure, placement/routing, STA) demonstrated through work on real designs.
  • Nice-to-have: Experience with Synopsys and Cadence tool flows.
  • Nice-to-have: Experience with Python for automation and analysis.

Education Requirements

BSc or MSc in Electrical Engineering. (Degree explicitly requested in the posting.)
