Role Summary
The CPU Physical Design Engineer will lead innovative CPU design efforts impacting various industries. This role involves collaboration with cross-functional teams to design and implement multi-core CPU operations, aiming to enhance performance and power efficiency.
Experience Level
Senior level with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include:
- Collaborate with teams to resolve physical design challenges in CPU implementations.
- Develop cutting-edge techniques in Physical Design to optimize Power, Performance, and Area (PPA) targets.
- Coordinate with various teams to understand CPU use cases and propose optimizations.
- Engage with CAD tool vendors and internal teams to enhance design optimization.
- Partner with block-level implementation teams to analyze and improve design methods.
- Work with Process, SoC, and Post-silicon teams to analyze and enhance design implementations.
Requirements
Must-have qualifications include:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field with 6+ years of relevant experience, or Master's degree with 4+ years, or PhD with 3+ years.
- Experience with synthesis, place and route, and timing/power analysis.
- Knowledge of high-performance and low-power implementation techniques.
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as TCL, Python, or Perl.
Preferred qualifications include:
- Experience in deep submicron process technology nodes.
- Experience in CPU PPA optimization.
- Strong data analytical skills.
- Familiarity with industry-standard tools for synthesis and tapeout flows.
Education Requirements
A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field is required.
