Role Summary

The CPU Design Verification Engineer will join AMD's CPU Silicon Emulation team, playing a crucial role in the design and debugging of next-generation AMD CPUs. The position requires a deep understanding of AMD’s X86 CPU architecture and microarchitecture, focusing on CPU pipeline stages, complex features, debugging emulation issues, and providing feedback to the design team in both pre-silicon and emulation environments.

Experience Level

This position is suited for candidates with 8-15 years of experience in processor or ASIC design verification, especially in micro-architecture testing for high-performance processors.

Responsibilities

  • Work in emulation and silicon environments, with experience in pre-silicon prototyping.
  • Debug low-level software and hardware issues using various tools including JTAG and kernel debuggers.
  • Analyze CPU and SoC architectures and collaborate on design feedback.
  • Ensure validation and debugging of digital circuits.
  • Utilize skills in Verilog / SystemVerilog for design verification.
  • Programming in C and scripting proficiency in Python and TCL.
  • Implement FPGA expertise with tools from Cadence, Xilinx, or Intel.
