Role Summary

The CPU Design Verification Engineer will be part of AMD's CPU Silicon Emulation team, which plays a critical role in next-generation AMD CPU design. This involves a deep understanding of AMD's X86 CPU architecture and microarchitecture, debugging emulation issues, and providing feedback to the design team for the latest generation CPU in a pre-silicon environment.

Experience Level

This position requires 8-15 years of experience in processor/ASIC design verification, particularly with a focus on micro-architecture testing for high-performance processors.

Responsibilities

The responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Experience in emulation and silicon environments for pre-silicon prototyping.
  • Debugging low-level software and hardware issues.
  • Using debug tools including JTAG and kernel debuggers.
  • Understanding CPU and SoC architectures.
  • Programming in C and utilizing scripting languages such as Python and TCL.
  • Expertise in Verilog/SystemVerilog.
  • Validation and debugging of digital circuits.
  • Experience with Cadence/Xilinx/Intel FPGAs and timing closure techniques.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related fields with relevant coursework and research.
