CPU Circuit Design Engineer
Role Summary
Join Intel's Haifa/Petah-Tikva CPU development center to contribute to transistor-level circuit design and optimization for next-generation CPU IP and SoCs. Work within a cross-functional team using EDA tools and Intel design methodologies to meet aggressive power, performance, and area targets.
The role involves ownership of defined design blocks, participation in design reviews, and collaboration with synthesis, RTL, layout, and verification teams to deliver high-speed CPU IP.
Experience Level
Mid-level. The posting specifies at least 2 years of VLSI or circuit design experience.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include circuit-level design, analysis, and support across design stages.
- Design, analyze, and debug CPU circuits at the transistor level with increasing ownership.
- Implement and optimize circuit designs using manual techniques and automation tools.
- Perform power, performance, and area (PPA) analysis and drive trade-off decisions for IP blocks.
- Participate in design reviews, quality checks, and provide post-silicon debug support.
- Collaborate with synthesis, front-end (RTL), layout, and other cross-functional teams.
- Apply and help refine Intel circuit design methodologies and automation flows.

- Must-have: Minimum ~2 years of hands-on VLSI or circuit design experience; experience with industry-standard EDA tools for circuit design, simulation, and debugging; strong analytical and independent problem-solving skills; effective communication and teamwork skills.
- Must-have: Experience with transistor-level design and power optimization techniques.
- Nice-to-have: Experience in memory design or CPU/SoC development.
Education Requirements
BSc or MSc in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.
