Connectivity Systems Validation Engineer
Role Summary
Responsible for developing, executing, and maintaining Bluetooth and/or Wi‑Fi connectivity tests and their automation for post‑silicon validation. Collaborate with Architecture, Design, and Pre‑Silicon Validation teams to improve test infrastructure, debug features, and product interoperability.
Part of the Silicon and Platform Engineering Group (SPE) focused on wireless connectivity validation for routers, access points, client devices, and related systems.
Experience Level
Entry-level — approximately 1+ years of relevant work experience.
Responsibilities
Define and execute system-level connectivity validation, report issues, and maintain automation.
- Create, define, and enhance system validation environments and test suites.
- Execute Bluetooth and Wi‑Fi validation and performance/stress tests on hardware and software products (routers, access points, Bluetooth and client devices).
- Identify, reproduce, and report software and hardware issues; produce detailed bug reports and documentation.
- Develop and maintain test plans, procedures, and interoperability tests.
- Collaborate with hardware, firmware, and software teams to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues.
- Develop and maintain automated test scripts and tools to improve test efficiency.
- Analyze and interpret test results; provide feedback to improve debug features and post‑silicon automation infrastructure.
- Keep tests aligned with current Bluetooth and Wi‑Fi standards.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience; candidates who meet most of these are preferred.
- 1+ years of relevant work experience in connectivity validation or a related field.
- Working knowledge of Wi‑Fi or Bluetooth profile/stack/firmware validation.
- Experience with test automation and scripting in Python.
- Familiarity with Linux, Windows, and macOS environments.
- Hands‑on experience with network protocol analyzers (e.g., Ellisys, Wireshark).
- Knowledge of networking fundamentals: TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills; ability to isolate hardware and software faults.
- Good written and verbal communication; ability to work independently and in cross‑functional teams.
Nice-to-have:
- Exposure to WLAN coexistence (Coex), OEM, or IOP testing.
- Experience testing routers, access points, and client devices.
- Familiarity with integrating Gen AI agents into validation or test automation workflows.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's/Engineering degree in Electronics, Computer Science, or Electrical Engineering preferred; or equivalent practical experience.
