Role Summary

The CLAWS III-N RF Integration Engineer will join North Carolina State University's team focused on the development of next-generation RF semiconductor devices. The role involves working on semiconductor process integration, device design, and electrical characterization within the Commercial Leap Ahead for Wide Bandgap Semiconductors (CLAWS) initiative.

Experience Level

Senior, requiring a Ph.D. in a relevant field or a Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 5 years of experience in GaN device development.

Responsibilities

The engineer will be responsible for the following:

  • Design and optimize GaN RF devices including discrete HEMTs and MMICs.
  • Utilize TCAD simulation for process and device modeling.
  • Develop and refine device layouts for wafer fabrication.
  • Be responsible for process development and integration of GaN devices.
  • Define and execute device characterization plans.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with other engineers and teams.

Requirements

Must-have qualifications include:

  • Ph.D. or Bachelor’s degree with significant experience in GaN device processing.
  • Advanced skills in EDA tools for RF device design.
  • Proficiency in fabrication methods like lithography and etching.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate.
  • Eligibility to obtain US government clearance.
