Circuit Design Engineer
Intel CorporationJob Title
Circuit Design Engineer
Role Summary
Design and optimize digital circuits for custom memory-related blocks (SRAM, register files, memory compilers, caches) with emphasis on schematic entry, simulation, and functionality verification.
Work within Intel's Data Center Group (DCG) to meet power, performance, area, and yield targets for high-performance data center solutions through cross-functional collaboration with architecture, layout, and test teams.
Experience Level
Entry-level. Typical background: Bachelor’s degree plus 1+ years of relevant educational or work experience, or Master’s degree with at least a few months of directly relevant educational experience.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities focus on circuit design, verification, and cross-team integration for memory and custom digital blocks.
- Design and optimize digital circuits for custom blocks including SRAM, register files, memory compilers, and caches.
- Perform schematic entry, circuit simulation, and functionality verification for major blocks.
- Create block-level DFT models and develop memory test tools.
- Characterize memory instances and memory compilers against design goals.
- Analyze and resolve circuit design issues to reduce leakage, improve performance, and increase robustness.
- Collaborate with architecture, layout, test, and cross-functional teams to meet PPA (power, performance, area) and yield targets.
Requirements
Minimum technical qualifications and desirable skills for the role. Education details are summarized separately under Education Requirements.
Must-have- Experience with circuit simulation tools and methodologies.
- Practical experience in digital circuit design, schematic entry, and verification processes.
- Familiarity with designing for power, performance, area, and yield optimization.
- Understanding of DFT models and memory characterization techniques.
- Experience improving design flows and automation for efficiency.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering or a relevant technical field with 1+ years of educational or work experience, or a Master's degree in the same fields with at least a few months of related educational experience. Internship, classwork, or research experience in relevant circuit design topics is applicable.
