Camera Design Engineer - Haifa
QualcommJob Title
Camera Design Engineer
Role Summary
Join the VLSI team in Qualcomm's Camera group to design and implement image signal processor (ISP) logic. The role focuses on converting image-processing and computer-vision algorithms (traditional and ML-based) into efficient RTL for mobile, automotive, and connected camera applications.
Experience Level
Mid-level - preferred 2β5 years of logic/ASIC design experience. Candidates with equivalent practical experience will be considered.
Responsibilities
Core responsibilities include RTL design, micro-architecture work, and verification support for ISP blocks.
- Define micro-architecture from specification and translate algorithms into RTL implementations.
- Develop, simulate, and debug RTL for image-processing pipelines (pixel processing, filters, convolution).
- Implement scalable, synthesizable designs that meet timing and area constraints.
- Work with verification teams on simulation, dynamic verification, linting, timing analysis, and formal checks.
- Collaborate with algorithm, software, and firmware teams to integrate and validate features at the system level.
- Support integration, validation, and debugging in silicon bring-up and emulation environments.
Requirements
Technical skills and experience required for day-one productivity. Degree requirements are listed under Education Requirements.
- Must-have: Practical ASIC/logic design experience with RTL development and RTL debug (preferably 2+ years).
- Must-have: Experience defining micro-architecture from specifications and coding scalable RTL.
- Must-have: Proficiency with digital design flows: simulation, dynamic verification, synthesis, linting, and timing analysis.
- Nice-to-have: RTL implementation experience in image-processing domains (pixel pipelines, filters, convolution) and familiarity with ML-based vision algorithms.
- Nice-to-have: Experience with formal verification and large-scale/scalable design techniques.
- Must-have: Strong teamwork and ability to work across hardware, software, and firmware boundaries.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Science, Engineering, or a related field plus 2+ years of ASIC/RTL design, verification, validation, or integration experience; OR Master's degree in Science, Engineering, or related field plus 1+ year of relevant experience; OR PhD in a related field. Applications with equivalent practical experience will also be considered.
