Calibre DFM QA Engineer

Role Summary

Join the Calibre DFM product software development team as a software quality engineer responsible for designing and executing tests, debugging, and qualifying software releases for Calibre DFM tools used in semiconductor IC design.

The role partners with software engineers, QA specialists, project engineers, and customer support to improve product quality and delivery across the full release cycle.

Experience Level

Mid-level (3-5 years of relevant experience preferred)

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include testing, regression management, and collaboration to deliver timely product releases.

  • Design, develop, and execute functional and regression tests to measure correctness, robustness, performance, and overall quality.
  • Test, debug, and qualify software releases and updates across the full release cycle.
  • Maintain and run regression test suites and provide timely regression reports to stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with software engineers, QA specialists, project engineers, and customer support to resolve issues and ensure release readiness.
  • Develop procedures and tools to improve QA processes and assist developers with design trade-offs and risk analysis.
  • Continuously improve technical and product knowledge to support delivery goals.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience; preferred items listed as nice-to-have.

  • Experience working in a Linux environment.
  • Familiarity with software quality assurance processes and maintaining regression test suites.
  • Strong analysis, design, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Able to work effectively in a fast-paced, multi-site development environment.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills when working with cross-functional teams.
  • Nice-to-have: exposure to EDA verification tools (e.g., Calibre DRC), experience with C++ and Calibre SVRF, VLSI design or layout tools, and scripting in Python or Perl.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science (as specified in the posting).
