Role Summary

Join Central Engineering to develop, maintain, and support EDA/CAD tools and flows used for CMOS integrated-circuit design, layout, and verification. The role focuses on producing and enhancing automation, debugging tools and flows, and providing production support for memory designs (NAND/DRAM/HBM).

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include development, support, and collaboration to improve CAD toolchains and design productivity.

• Design, implement, and maintain in-house and commercial EDA tools and flows for circuit design, physical layout, and verification.
• Evaluate tool architecture and hardware limitations; debug and enhance CAD software and automation.
• Develop methodologies and tools to improve design efficiency and quality for NAND, DRAM, and HBM memory designs.
• Provide production support, documentation, and training for end users of tools and flows.
• Collaborate with design teams, process engineers, vendors, and customers to integrate and validate tool flows.

Requirements

• Must-have: Excellent programming fundamentals and software engineering practices.
• Must-have: Experience developing, debugging, or supporting CAD/EDA software or automation flows.
• Nice-to-have: Unix and shell scripting experience.
• Nice-to-have: Experience with SKILL and Python preferred; recent validated experience in C, C++, Java, Visual Basic, Perl, or Lisp will be considered.
• Nice-to-have: Familiarity with VLSI/IC design tools (schematics, layouts, simulation, verification) and CMOS implementation tradeoffs (area, speed, power).

Education Requirements

Master's degree preferred; Bachelor's degree acceptable; or equivalent practical experience. Relevant fields include Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, VLSI/IC design, or related technical disciplines. The posting explicitly allows equivalent experience in lieu of a degree.
