Job Title

Associate Engineer, Product Engineering (Mfg.)

Role Summary

Responsible for delivering manufacturing product-engineering projects that reduce cost and improve gross margin. Primary focus areas include yield improvement, scrap reduction, test-time reduction, process simplification, and product qualification for new materials/fabs/processes.

Works within the product engineering/manufacturing team to characterize products, support production transitions, and implement test and process changes that lower factory costs and alleviate capacity constraints.

Experience Level

Entry-level (Associate). The posting requests at least 5 years of semiconductor test engineering experience.

Responsibilities

Core responsibilities include project delivery for cost and yield improvements and support of product qualification and test optimizations.

  • Lead and execute yield-improvement and scrap-reduction projects.
  • Perform product characterization and post-release analysis to meet new product requirements.
  • Reduce test time and simplify process flows to improve throughput and capacity.
  • Support product qualification for new materials, fabs, or processes to lower factory cost.
  • Assist with test platform migrations and validation on ATE systems.
  • Develop and validate test methods and measurement procedures for ICs.
  • Use bench test equipment for verification and troubleshooting.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience; advantages listed separately.

  • At least 5 years' experience in a semiconductor test engineering or manufacturing test environment.
  • Strong background in electronics, circuit analysis, and IC test and measurement methods.
  • Hands-on experience with ATE platforms (examples: Advantest 93K, ETS364, ETS800, SPEA) and test platform migration.
  • Proficiency with bench test equipment such as source meters, oscilloscopes, and spectrum analyzers.
  • Programming experience in languages such as C++, LabVIEW, VB/VB.net for test automation and data analysis.
  • Willingness to travel up to 10% and work the specified crewing schedule.

Nice-to-have:

  • Experience with PCB design tools (Cadence Allegro, PADS PowerPCB or similar).
  • Knowledge of Battery Management System (BMS) devices.

Education Requirements

Graduate of a Bachelor's degree in Electronics, Electrical, or Computer Engineering. MS units in a related engineering field are an advantage. (Degree and field specified in the source.)
