Associate Digital Design Engineer

Role Summary

The Associate Digital Design Engineer will design, implement, and verify digital integrated circuits and subsystems as part of a cross-functional semiconductor product team. The role covers specification, RTL development, simulation, synthesis, timing closure, and validation activities.

Work location: San Jose, CA (Rio Robles campus). Occasional travel required (up to 10%).

Experience Level

Entry-level β€” 0–2 years of relevant experience expected (graduate or early-career engineer).

Responsibilities

Deliver digital design and verification tasks across the project lifecycle and collaborate with adjacent engineering groups.

  • Design, implement, and verify digital circuits and subsystems from specification through validation.
  • Develop, simulate, and verify RTL using Verilog and/or SystemVerilog.
  • Support synthesis, static timing analysis, timing closure, and performance optimization.
  • Debug silicon and RTL issues; analyze and resolve technical design challenges.
  • Collaborate with architecture, verification, physical design, test applications, and product engineering teams.
  • Document design specifications, verification plans, and technical results.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and workplace expectations.

  • Solid understanding of digital circuit design fundamentals and computer architecture concepts.
  • Experience developing RTL in Verilog and/or SystemVerilog.
  • Familiarity with digital design, simulation, verification, and implementation workflows and tools.
  • Knowledge of synthesis, timing analysis, and digital implementation concepts.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills.
  • Effective verbal and written communication and ability to work in a team environment.
  • Willingness to travel up to 10%.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field is listed as preferred. The posting also accepts academic, internship, or equivalent practical experience in semiconductor design or related disciplines.
