Assembly Engineer
Role Summary
Responsible for monitoring and improving supplier assembly quality across Technology, Quality, Response, Delivery and Cost (TQRDC). Works with assembly suppliers and internal failure analysis (FA) engineers to investigate failures, implement corrective actions, perform audits, analyze yields, and support supplier qualification.

Responsibilities
The role focuses on supplier quality assurance for semiconductor assembly and package processes.
- Manage and resolve assembly quality issues: determine root cause and ensure effective, timely corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Conduct regular supplier audits and quarterly performance ratings; work with suppliers on continuous improvement plans.
- Monitor and analyze assembly yield, defect modes, and SPC weekly; review assembly WIP daily to ensure short cycle times and on-time delivery.
- Perform risk assessments and dispositions for incoming wafer issues at suppliers and for held lots with assembly issues on the test floor.
- Generate and evaluate supplier quality reports, establish baselines, and identify improvement opportunities.
- Coordinate with FA engineers to identify assembly failures, determine root causes, and implement corrective actions with assemblers.
- Support qualification of new suppliers, materials, packages, and assembly processes.
Requirements
Minimum skills and conditions required for the role.
- Familiarity with general assembly processes and quality-control methodologies, including 8D CAR, FMEA, SPC.
- Working knowledge of failure analysis (FA) concepts and reliability engineering.
- Fluent English in writing and speaking.
- Must be based in Ningbo and work onsite at the Ningbo FHEC facility.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering or a related technical discipline is required.
