Job Title

ASIC Verification Engineer

Role Summary

Design and verification lead for VLSI components and hardware systems within HPE platforms. Work with cross-functional teams and outsourced partners to define architecture, verify logic, and drive VLSI designs from specification through prototype.

Experience Level

Mid-level. Typical experience: 6–10 years in VLSI design, verification, or implementation.

Responsibilities

Primary duties focus on technical leadership, design verification, and delivery of VLSI solutions.

  • Lead project teams of VLSI and electronic engineers and external partners across all stages of VLSI development.
  • Define and review architecture and logic design; ensure compliance with VLSI technology and development standards.
  • Develop, run, and evaluate verification plans and simulations for components and systems.
  • Provide technical direction for integration of new technologies and platform-level decisions.
  • Mentor and guide less-experienced engineers; contribute to selection and development of future technical leaders.
  • Drive improvements in design quality, reliability, and cost-effectiveness for prototypes and production devices.

Requirements

Key technical must-haves and useful additional skills.

Must-have:

  • 6–10 years experience in VLSI design, verification, or implementation.
  • Proficient with Verilog / SystemVerilog and UVM-based verification methodologies.
  • Experience with scripting languages such as Python, Perl, or TCL.
  • Experience in software programming languages such as C or C++.
  • Strong fundamentals in digital logic, computer architecture, and VLSI principles.
  • Experience with EDA tools and hardware description languages for verification.

Nice-to-have:

  • Specman knowledge.
  • FPGA experience and familiarity with implementation tool flows.
  • Evidence of technical leadership such as patents or publications.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience; coursework or background in VLSI design is expected.
