ASIC Verification Engineer
Role Summary
Perform pre-silicon design verification for ASIC blocks using SystemVerilog and UVM. Work with verification and design teams to create and maintain testbenches, develop tests, analyze coverage, and debug functional issues to ensure blocks meet design requirements prior to silicon.
Team: block/verification engineering. Location: San Jose, CA. Start date: Immediate.
Experience Level
Mid-level — approximately 4+ years of pre-silicon design verification experience with at least 2 years of hands-on SystemVerilog/UVM coding.
Responsibilities
Typical responsibilities include:
- Design and implement SystemVerilog/UVM testbenches for medium-complexity blocks.
- Develop random, directed, error, and performance tests to validate functionality.
- Maintain and extend UVM verification environments and related infrastructure.
- Debug functional issues using waveform analysis and collaborate with design engineers to resolve them.
- Write and analyze functional coverage and assertions; generate and assess code coverage and prepare waivers.
- Apply OOP concepts, randomization, constraints, and interface usage in test development.
Requirements
Must-have qualifications:
- At least 4 years of pre-silicon design verification (DV) experience.
- Minimum 2 years hands-on experience writing SystemVerilog and UVM code.
- Proficiency with Verilog/SystemVerilog, UVM, and waveform debugging.
- Experience building testbenches, writing a range of test types, and maintaining UVM environments.
- Experience with functional coverage, assertions, code coverage analysis, and waiver preparation.
- Strong analytical skills, ability to learn quickly, work independently, and communicate clearly.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience verifying networking products or networking protocols.
- Experience with DMA-based verification.
