Job Title

ASIC Verification Engineer

Role Summary

Work on a hybrid engineering team to plan and execute verification of ASIC/VLSI designs from design through prototype. Collaborate with internal and outsourced partners to validate complex integrated circuits and ensure design quality.

Position is hybrid with an expectation of approximately 2 days per week in an HPE office (Durham, NC).

Experience Level

Mid-level. Typical candidate: 3+ years of VLSI verification experience, including SystemVerilog and UVM.

Responsibilities

Core responsibilities focus on verification, collaboration, and technical leadership within VLSI projects.

  • Provide verification expertise across VLSI design and development projects.
  • Plan, develop, and run verification environments and testbenches (SystemVerilog/UVM).
  • Collaborate with management, design teams, and outsourced partners on status, issues, and resolution.
  • Represent the verification team through all phases of complex VLSI projects.
  • Debug and analyze failures to identify root causes and drive fixes.
  • Mentor and provide guidance to less-experienced engineers.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience for successful performance in this role.

  • 3+ years of VLSI verification experience using SystemVerilog and UVM.
  • Strong knowledge of digital logic, VLSI principles, and computer architecture.
  • Proven experience verifying and debugging ASIC/VLSI components and integrated circuits.
  • Proficiency with programming and scripting languages, hardware description languages, and EDA or FPGA tools.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent technical field; coursework in VLSI design or VLSI concepts. Equivalent practical experience will be considered.
