ASIC Verification Engineer
NVIDIAJob Title
ASIC Verification Engineer
Role Summary
Plan and implement functional verification for ASIC IP, clusters, and SoCs used in NVIDIA GPUs and Tegra products. Work across architecture, RTL design, performance verification, FPGA, and software teams to achieve functional and code-coverage goals through pre-silicon and post-silicon activities.
Experience Level
Entry-level. Requires 1+ years of design experience.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include:
- Own ASIC verification for IP/cluster RTL, including developing and executing verification plans and regressions.
- Collaborate with hardware architects and RTL designers to guide implementation choices that affect verification and correctness.
- Coordinate with performance verification teams to augment verification using dynamic simulations and formal techniques.
- Ensure functional and code coverage closure against specifications.
- Enable FPGA and software teams so system-level software can be tested against the design.
- Participate in post-silicon verification and debug efforts.
Requirements
Must-have:
- 1+ years of design experience.
- Practical ASIC verification experience on complex design units (at least one or two projects).
- Experience with verification and debug tools (e.g., VCS or equivalent simulators; debuggers such as Debussy, GDB).
- Exposure to SystemVerilog and UVM-based verification methodology.
Nice-to-have:
- Knowledge of memory controllers or experience with IP/clusters that access memory.
- Scripting skills (Python, Perl, shell) for automation.
- Strong debugging and problem-solving skills.
- Good interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in a team.
Education Requirements
BS or MS degree, or equivalent practical experience (the posting states "BS / MS or equivalent experience").
