ASIC SoC Verification Lead

Role Summary

The ASIC SoC Verification Lead is responsible for planning, building, and executing the verification of AMD’s graphics processor IP. This role ensures that new and existing features are effectively verified with a goal of achieving no bugs in the final design.

Experience Level

This position requires an experienced professional with a minimum of 7 years in the field, particularly in complex processor architecture and digital design verification.

Responsibilities

The key responsibilities include:

• Collaborate with architects, hardware engineers, and firmware engineers to understand and verify new features.
• Develop UVM-based verification environments and testbenches, automating processes and flows.
• Utilize AI tools to enhance SV/UVM test suites and achieve efficient coverage closure.
• Conduct formal verification techniques at the SoC level.
• Engage in power-aware verification of SoC using UPF.
• Work on cryptographic algorithms (AES, RSA, SHA) and functional verification of SoC interconnects.
• Verify SoC performance concerning data paths, bandwidth, and latencies.
• Conduct DFx/DFT infrastructure verification and debug test failures to identify root causes.
• Develop additional tests to ensure functional and code coverage requirements are met.

Requirements

Preferred qualifications for this role include proficiency in UVM testbenches, Verilog, System Verilog, and C. Candidates should have experience in formal verification techniques, knowledge of cryptographic algorithms, and familiarity with high-speed bus protocols like PCIe and USB. Effective communication and collaboration skills across different teams and time zones are essential.

Education Requirements

A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering is required.
