ASIC Physical Design Sr. Engineer

Role Summary

The ASIC Physical Design Sr. Engineer will work on implementing and integrating advanced DDR IPs while driving timing closure for high-frequency designs. This role requires collaboration with teams in both local and US locations to achieve project goals.

Experience Level

Senior level with 3+ years of experience in ASIC physical design.

Responsibilities

The key responsibilities include:

• Implementing state-of-the-art DDR IPs at advanced technology nodes.
• Driving timing closure for high-frequency designs above ~4GHz.
• Collaborating with global teams for project alignment.
• Integrating mixed-signal hard macro IPs with innovative solutions.
• Designing efficient clock trees with optimal skew balancing.
• Participating in design reviews and debugging issues.
• Supporting best practices in floorplanning, placement, routing, and power optimization.
• Mentoring junior engineers and encouraging knowledge sharing.

Requirements

Required qualifications include:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s in Electronics or Electrical Engineering.
• 3+ years of experience in ASIC physical design at advanced technology nodes (10nm, 7nm, 6nm or below).
• Proficiency in physical design tools like Synopsys ICC2, PrimeTime, StarRC.
• Solid understanding of timing closure, clock tree synthesis, and skew balancing.
• Experience with DDR interface implementation and/or mixed-signal IP integration.
• Familiarity with scripting languages (Tcl, Perl, Python).
• Strong analytical and debugging skills.

Education Requirements

Expected qualifications include a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
