ASIC Physical Design Architect

Role Summary

The ASIC Physical Design Architect will drive the physical feasibility of HPC controller designs and oversee the quality of soft IP releases. This role involves working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure designs meet targeted specifications and quality standards while improving customer support and experience.

Experience Level

This position requires an experienced professional with a strong background in physical design concerned with the hardening of complex designs ready for tape-out. You should have significant operational and project management experience, particularly in ASIC development.

Responsibilities

• Accountable for the physical feasibility sign-off of HPC controllers.
• Develop physical user guides in collaboration with the design team.
• Support customers with their floorplan development and place & route (P&R) processes.
• Provide directive feedback to design teams on necessary improvements.
• Establish flows and sign-off criteria across product configurations.
• Engage with methodology and EDA tooling teams to drive improvements.

Requirements

• Extensive experience in Physical Design with a proven record of preparing complex designs for tape-out.
• Exemplary operational and project management skills.
• Excellent communication and presentation capabilities.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Background in ASIC development.

Education Requirements

A relevant degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field is expected, along with significant experience in the physical design domain.
