Role Summary

The ASIC Digital Design Staff Engineer will develop high-performance firmware for next-generation SerDes technologies, collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance existing applications and features.

Experience Level

Mid-level, with relevant industry experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include:

• Develop firmware for next-generation PAM4 Serdes spanning protocols like PCIe and Ethernet.
• Collaborate with various teams during firmware development and debugging.
• Support and improve existing firmware applications.
• Develop infrastructure for firmware application development.
• Enhance documentation content for better customer experience.
• Diagnose firmware-related failures.
• Participate in firmware integration, debugging, and silicon hardware bring-up.
• Drive improvements in firmware design methodologies.
• Contribute to system-level architecture improvements.

Requirements

Must-have qualifications:

• Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent.
• Understanding of digital logic and firmware/software development.
• Proficiency in C programming language.
• Experience with structured firmware development and debugging.
• Understanding of cross-development tool flows.
• Experience in digital logic design using Verilog.

Nice-to-have:

• Understanding of Serdes standards such as PCIe and Ethernet.
• Scripting experience with Perl, Python, Bash, or Csh.

Education Requirements

Expected education background includes a Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in a related field.
