Role Summary
As an ASIC Digital Design Principal Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and developing bare metal firmware for advanced mixed-signal ASICs, focusing primarily on high-speed SerDes products. Your role involves collaboration with cross-functional teams to define specifications, executing structured firmware development processes, and performing functional and performance tests.
Experience Level
Minimum of 6 years of hands-on experience in bare metal firmware development and silicon testing, with a strong foundation in digital design (RTL) and mixed-signal integration principles.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and test bare metal firmware for high-speed SerDes products.
- Collaborate with analog and digital teams to define specifications and integration requirements.
- Execute structured firmware development processes, including verification and documentation.
- Perform functional and performance tests on prototype test-chips.
- Provide technical expertise and customer support throughout the product lifecycle.
- Contribute to project planning, milestone tracking, and delivery of high-quality results.
- Engage in continuous learning about industry advancements in SerDes and scripting.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE/MSEE) or related field.
- Minimum 6 years of experience in bare metal firmware development and silicon testing.
- Strong understanding of digital design (RTL) and mixed-signal integration principles.
- Experience with structured firmware development and documentation processes.
- Proficiency in project execution from specification through to final testing.
- Knowledge of SerDes standards and scripting (Shell/Python) is a plus.
