Job Title
ASIC DFT Technical Leader
Role Summary
Member of the Silicon One development organization (Common Hardware Group) responsible for defining and driving DFT requirements and quality across RTL, physical design, implementation, and post-silicon validation for advanced networking ASICs.
Work collaboratively with front-end RTL and back-end physical design teams to ensure testability, guide DFT architecture, and support silicon bring-up and signoff.
Experience Level
Senior β minimum 10 years of relevant DFT, test, or silicon engineering experience.
Responsibilities
Lead technical DFT activities across the full implementation and validation lifecycle.
- Define and drive DFT and test requirements early in the design cycle with RTL and physical design teams.
- Specify and integrate scan, BIST (including memory BIST), JTAG, and boundary-scan architectures.
- Lead ATPG, EDA tool flows, gate-level simulation, and debug efforts.
- Coordinate post-silicon validation, develop ATE patterns, and support silicon debug (including P1687).
- Contribute to physical design signoff and test-timing validation.
- Mentor engineers and help develop DFT methodology and CAD infrastructure.
Requirements
Technical must-haves and desirable skills.
-
Must-have: Proven experience in DFT, test, and silicon engineering; strong knowledge of JTAG, scan, BIST, and boundary-scan techniques.
- Experience with ATPG and EDA toolsets such as TestMax, Tetramax, Tessent, and PrimeTime.
- Gate-level simulation and debugging experience using VCS or similar simulators.
- Post-silicon validation and debug experience; familiarity with ATE patterns and P1687.
-
Nice-to-have: Verilog experience for custom DFT logic and IP integration; DFT CAD development, test architecture, methodology, and infrastructure.
- Test static timing analysis and SystemVerilog logic equivalency checking experience.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering is required (as stated in the posting). The role requires at least 10 years of relevant experience.
