ASIC Design Engineer Intern
Role Summary
12-week internship on Meta's Infrastructure ASIC team building accelerators for server and data-center workloads. Work includes RTL/HLS development, design and verification of advanced IP, PPA optimization, verification infrastructure, and post-silicon validation alongside experienced ASIC engineers.
Compensation for U.S. locations: $6,660/month to $12,014/month plus benefits.
Experience Level
Entry-level (Internship). Intended for students currently enrolled in undergraduate or graduate degree programs who plan to return to their program after the internship.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include:
- Participate in micro-architecture, design, and verification reviews and provide technical feedback.
- Design and develop RTL or HLS code for IP blocks.
- Analyze designs and improve PPA (Power, Performance, Area).
- Support and develop verification infrastructure and improve verification coverage.
- Support simulation accelerators and perform post-silicon validation activities.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and conditions for the role:
- Knowledge of Verilog, SystemVerilog, or HLS.
- Understanding of computer architecture and digital logic design fundamentals.
- Ability to obtain and maintain work authorization in the country of employment at time of hire.
- Intent to return to a full-time degree program after the internship.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience with linting, synthesis, formal verification, or physical design tools.
- Scripting skills (Python or Perl).
- Experience with high-performance computing and digital signal processing techniques.
- Strong creativity and problem-solving skills.
Education Requirements
Required: Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related engineering field. Preferred: Master’s or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related fields. The posting expects enrolled students who intend to return to their degree program after the internship.
