Applications Engineering Staff Engineer

Role Summary

As an Applications Engineering Staff Engineer at Synopsys, you will focus on FPGA-based prototyping, actively engaging in deploying and enhancing prototyping technologies while collaborating with various teams to ensure optimal performance and productivity.

Experience Level

6+ years of hands-on experience in FPGA design or SoC prototyping.

Responsibilities

• Validate advanced prototyping features using large, complex customer SoC designs, ensuring high performance and functionality across HAPS-based systems.
• Analyze complex design and prototyping challenges and develop innovative solutions that enhance customer productivity.
• Provide technical leadership and domain expertise to define and refine requirements for HAPS prototyping flows.
• Collaborate with R&D, Applications Engineering, and global teams to deliver seamless customer experiences.

Requirements

• Extensive experience with FPGA-based prototyping or emulation of complex multi-million-gate SoCs.
• Strong proficiency in Verilog, System Verilog, RTL design, Synthesis, and working with latest FPGA architectures.
• Practical experience with scripting languages such as Python and Tcl.
• Knowledge of ARM® bus architectures, display controllers/interfaces, and relevant industry-standard protocols (preferred).

Education Requirements

A relevant degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field is preferred.
