Role Summary

As a Staff Applications Engineer you will support key foundry partners by developing and maintaining ICV runsets, delivering post-sales technical solutions, and providing pre-sales expertise. You will work within the Customer Application Services team to ensure Synopsys tools integrate and perform correctly in customer environments.

The role requires collaboration with customers, sales, and product teams to resolve technical issues, drive product adoption, and mentor junior engineers.

Responsibilities

Core responsibilities include:

• Manage and support ICV runsets for foundry partners, ensuring integration and performance.
• Provide post-sales technical expertise for runset programming, implementation, and maintenance.
• Translate customer installation requirements into configured solutions and customizations.
• Collaborate with customers to validate functionality and resolve issues related to verification, place-and-route, design reuse, and physical design.
• Provide pre-sales technical support and demonstrations to address technical questions and support sales efforts.
• Act as a subject matter expert on EDA products and advise on verification and physical-design challenges.

Requirements

Must-have skills and experience:

• Solid knowledge of ASIC design flows, VLSI, and/or CAD engineering principles.
• Experience with EDA tool products (verification, place-and-route, design reuse, physical design).
• Strong technical communication skills for diverse technical and non-technical audiences.
• Ability to manage technical projects from initiation to completion.
• Problem-solving aptitude and ability to mentor junior engineers.
• Nice-to-have: familiarity with Design Rule Manuals (DRM) and foundry runset programming.
