Role Summary
The Applications Engineering Principal Engineer (PDS) is responsible for driving the adoption of Synopsys products for performance enhancement in silicon chip design. The role requires strong expertise in Physical Design, Logical and Physical Synthesis, and static timing analysis within advanced node technologies.
Experience Level
Candidates should have a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) with at least 7 years of relevant experience, or a Master's degree (MSEE) with a minimum of 5 years of experience in chip design using industry-standard tools.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include:
- Supporting sales through demonstrating Synopsys tools and solutions to customers.
- Executing design methodologies at advanced nodes below 5nm.
- Managing multiple customer engagements and collaborating with account management teams.
- Providing training and technical support to customers, including problem resolution.
- Participating in account planning and contributing to developing solutions based on customer needs.
Requirements
Essential qualifications and skills required for this position are:
- Design implementation experience in ASIC using P&R tools, RTL to GDSII flow knowledge is preferred.
- Strong understanding of advanced design methodologies and in-depth knowledge of Synopsys back-end tools, including timing closure techniques.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple customer requests effectively.
Education Requirements
Required education includes a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) with 7+ years of experience or a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering (MSEE) with 5+ years of experience.
