Applications Engineer - EDA Verification
Role Summary
Provide technical applications support and verification guidance for Synopsys formal and simulation-based EDA tools to customers in Sweden and the Nordic region. Work with customer design and verification teams to diagnose issues, reproduce problems in lab environments, deliver solutions or escalations, and help customers achieve verification signoff.
Experience Level
Mid-level. The role targets candidates with approximately 2–5 years of experience in semiconductor design, ASIC verification, or EDA applications support.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities focus on customer-facing technical support, training, and feedback to engineering teams.
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting for verification tools (formal, simulation, debug) to customers in Sweden and the Nordic region.
- Reproduce customer issues in lab environments, isolate root cause, and deliver fixes or escalate to R&D when needed.
- Assist customers with property and assertion development, proof convergence, coverage analysis, and methodology recommendations.
- Deliver on-site and remote training sessions and technical presentations to customer teams.
- Document solutions, known issues, and workarounds to build team knowledge.
- Provide field feedback to R&D to improve product behavior and workflows based on customer use cases.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills, experience, and location requirements.
- 2–5 years of experience in semiconductor design, ASIC verification, or EDA applications support.
- Understanding of digital design, formal verification concepts, and simulation-based verification flows.
- Ability to debug verification problems and determine whether issues originate from design, environment, methodology, or tools.
- Comfortable working directly with customers, explaining technical concepts clearly in English.
- Based in or near Stockholm (Kista), Sweden, with willingness to travel regularly within the Nordic region and perform on-site support.
- Experience with Synopsys tools (VC Formal, VCS, Verdi) is a plus; training will be provided where needed.
- Strong problem-solving, time management, and customer communication skills.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related semiconductor/electronics discipline.
