Application & Solution Engineer (In-Circuit Test)
Role Summary
Join the Electrical & Industrial Solutions Group Center of Excellence to lead application and solution development for boundary scan (JTAG / IEEE 1149) testing in manufacturing. The role engages customers, defines software architecture and test solutions, and drives product-level application development and deployment.
Experience Level
Mid-level (Mid-Career). Minimum ~3 years of relevant experience in product development, engineering, or product management.
Responsibilities
Work with customers, product planning, and R&D to design, develop, validate, and support boundary-scan and ICT solutions.
- Develop and deliver boundary scan and ICT application solutions for manufacturing customers.
- Collaborate in product planning to define new solutions and technologies.
- Act as customer advocate: gather requirements, design tailored solutions, and support system setup and testing.
- Develop, debug, and optimize ICT test programs to meet customer specifications.
- Integrate Keysight and third‑party products into ICT systems and validate solution performance against specifications.
- Troubleshoot application anomalies and propose corrective actions.
- Perform competitive benchmarking and monitor industry trends to inform product direction.
- Provide technical support, author customer-facing technical materials, and deliver training and consultation.
Requirements
Key qualifications and skills required and desirable.
Must-have:
- Minimum 3 years' experience in product development, engineering, or product management.
- Practical knowledge of ICT systems (e.g., Keysight i3070, i1000, or other ICT platforms).
- Experience with Boundary Scan (JTAG / IEEE 1149) test development and debug.
- Experience with manufacturing processes and test strategies.
- Strong analytical skills; ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues.
- Self-motivated, collaborative team player with strong interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
Nice-to-have:
- Knowledge of board electronics test strategies and manufacturing test processes.
- Experience with x1149 / Boundary Scan technologies.
- Familiarity with IEEE 1149.10, 1500, 1687, and 1838 standards.
- Experience producing board-level DFT reports.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical, Electronic, or Computer Engineering or a software-related discipline from an accredited college or university.
