Application Engineering Staff Engineer

Role Summary

As a Staff Implementation Application Engineer at Synopsys, you will focus on driving global customer adoption of Synopsys Implementation products by providing expert guidance on RTL-to-GDS flows. You will deliver comprehensive technical support and solutions for premium customer projects, while collaborating with R&D and product management teams to advance Synopsys’ technology leadership.

Responsibilities

• Drive customer adoption of Synopsys Implementation products through expert guidance on RTL-to-GDS flows.
• Deliver comprehensive technical support and hands-on debugging for customer projects, including on-site visits as needed.
• Participate in technical campaigns to improve usability and adoption of new solutions.
• Act as an advocate for customers by communicating their needs to product development.
• Contribute technical articles to Synopsys’ Knowledge Base for customer self-help guidance.
• Implement new product methodologies through training sessions and ongoing technical support.
• Collaborate with R&D teams to translate customer challenges into innovative solutions.

Requirements

• B-Tech or equivalent with a minimum of 6+ years of experience, or M-Tech or equivalent with a minimum of 4+ years of experience in physical implementation.
• Deep expertise in implementation methodologies and physical design, particularly with Synopsys tools like Fusion Compiler or ICC-II.
• Thorough understanding of RTL-to-GDS flows and methodologies.
• Proficiency in scripting languages such as Tcl, Perl, and Unix; knowledge of Python is a plus.
• Experience in static timing analysis, low power flows, and design planning.
• Prior experience in multiple chip tape-outs at 7nm or lower nodes preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills; customer-facing experience is advantageous.

Education Requirements

B-Tech or M-Tech in relevant field.
