Application Engineer — Solido DE

Role Summary

Field Application Engineer for the Siemens EDA Solido product suite supporting customers designing advanced chips using statistical and Monte Carlo analysis, cell optimization, and design-sensitivity methods for custom analog and foundation IP.

Collaborate with customers, Sales, and R&D to resolve technical issues, drive product adoption, and contribute to product validation and roadmap.

Experience Level

Mid-level; typically requires 5–6+ years of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities focus on technical customer support, troubleshooting, product validation, and enabling sales engagements.

• Provide technical expertise and hands-on support to key customers using Solido tools.
• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve complex technical issues on customer designs and flows.
• Collaborate with R&D to define product specifications, validation tests, and roadmap inputs.
• Partner with Sales and customers to identify technical challenges and propose solutions to increase product utilization and retention.
• Engage with customer management to establish success criteria and drive business outcomes.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and practical experience; nice-to-have items listed separately.

• Must-have: Experience with Virtuoso/ADE.
• Must-have: Working knowledge of SPICE-family simulators such as AFS, Eldo, Finesim, PrimeSim, HSPICE, or Spectre.
• Must-have: Good understanding of statistical fundamentals and Monte Carlo methods.
• Must-have: Understanding of yield considerations for standard cell, IO, memory, and custom analog designs.
• Nice-to-have: Experience with Solido Variation-aware tools, High Sigma Monte Carlo, Spectre FMC.
• Nice-to-have: Scripting experience (Unix shell, Python).
• Behavioral: Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills; ability to build relationships with customer teams and management; creative problem-solving.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline (BE/ME). The role typically expects 5–6+ years of relevant experience.
