Job Title

Application Engineer

Role Summary

Support Qorvo's Programmable Power Management division by providing customer-facing technical support, validating new power-management ICs, and developing evaluation kits and reference designs. Collaborate with design and system engineering, sales, and FAEs to resolve customer issues and enable product adoption.

Focus areas include power management, battery chargers, power-loss protection and system-level solutions for mobile, IoT, industrial, and consumer applications.

Experience Level

Mid-level / Professional β€” requires at least 2 years of experience in power electronics or the semiconductor power management industry.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include technical validation, customer support, documentation, and collaboration across engineering and commercial teams.

  • Evaluate and validate new IC functionality and test new IC spins.
  • Provide direct technical support and troubleshooting for customers and FAEs.
  • Design evaluation kits and custom reference-design schematics and PCBs.
  • Create technical documentation: datasheets, application notes, evaluation reports, and presentations.
  • Collaborate with system and design engineers to define and test IC features.
  • Develop competitive analyses and train sales, FAEs, and customers.
  • Support revenue growth by resolving customer technical questions.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and work habits:

  • Hands-on lab experience with high-frequency switching power supplies (bucks, boosts, buck-boosts), battery chargers, PMICs, and LDOs.
  • Strong board-level analog and mixed-signal design skills, including PCB layout guidelines for high switching-frequency applications.
  • Experience with PCB schematic-capture and layout tools.
  • Familiarity with I2C, basic digital logic, and USB protocols.
  • Soldering and rework skills; hands-on debugging and test.
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly in writing and orally.
  • Proven ability to work cross-functionally and independently, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple projects.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally.

Nice-to-have:

  • Experience with semiconductor power management ICs and programmable power solutions.

Education Requirements

Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) with at least 2 years of experience in power electronics or the semiconductor industry.
