Analog/Mixed Signal PLL Analog Designers
QualcommJob Title
Analog/Mixed-Signal PLL Analog Designer
Role Summary
Join Qualcomm's Mixed-Signal IP team in Bangalore to design, deliver, and support analog and mixed-signal hard macros (PLL/DLL/LDO/Data Converter IP) for SoCs across Mobile, Automotive, IoT, and Compute products.
The role is hands-on circuit and macro design on advanced FinFET process nodes, collaborating with layout, digital, physical design, and test teams to meet low-power, low-voltage, and high-speed requirements.
Experience Level
Mid-level - preferred 6–12 years of transistor-level analog/mixed-signal design experience.
Responsibilities
Primary technical responsibilities include design, verification, and delivery of analog/mixed-signal IP and support for integration and testing.
- Own architecture and transistor-level design of analog/mixed-signal hard macros for PLL IP.
- Design analog building blocks: bias circuits, references, op-amps, LDOs, VCOs/DCOs, dividers, and clock-distribution networks.
- Perform custom circuit design and deliver hard macros in advanced FinFET CMOS process technologies.
- Set up, run, and analyze SPICE simulations and create behavioral models for system-level verification.
- Collaborate with layout, digital, physical design, and HSIO Bench/ATE teams through integration and silicon bring-up.
- Participate in requirements discussions and translate specifications into design deliverables.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience. Preferred items are noted separately.
- Minimum ~6 years of transistor-level analog/mixed-signal design experience (PLL, ADC/DAC, or other high-speed analog preferred).
- Hands-on experience with SPICE simulators and layout/verification flows; familiarity with Virtuoso and ADEXL.
- Experience with custom analog layout, parasitic optimization, post-layout extraction, and design-for-verification closure.
- Scripting experience to automate circuit design and verification workflows.
- Ability to collaborate with global cross-functional teams and communicate technical concepts clearly.
- Preferred: experience with PLL/DLL clocking architectures, high-speed interfaces, SoC integration, advanced CMOS/FinFET nodes, and signal-integrity considerations.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Engineering, or a related field with 2+ years of relevant hardware engineering experience; OR Master’s in those fields with 1+ year; OR PhD in those fields. Equivalent practical experience is acceptable per the listed minimum qualifications.
